What is Hypnotherapy?

Have you noticed that you can drift off into a day dream, or concentrate on one thing whilst ignoring everything else? That is hypnosis! We naturally go into this focused state several times a day without even trying! For example, most of us can recall having arrived at a destination and not remembering much about the journey we’ve just taken.

Hypnotherapy is a combination of talking therapies and Hypnosis. There are many different kinds of Psychotherapy, all of which aim to help people overcome stress or emotional problems. Psychotherapy, also known as talking therapy is itself extremely beneficial and enables you to focus on the positive changes you want to achieve. It’s effects are enhanced by the application of Hypnosis, which enables the subconscious mind to make beneficial changes.

When we are guided into a state of hypnosis, through deep relaxation, we enter a state of focused attention. This enables us to access and activate the resources of both the conscious and subconscious minds to make positive change in a relatively short amount of time.

Solution Focused Hypnotherapy is a future orientated, collaborative process so it is vital that you yourself want to achieve change. Your initial consultation is half price because I recognize that some clients may not fully understand hypnotherapy and may want to find out more before deciding what type of therapy is best for them. This session is always valuable.

During the initial consultation we discuss what you want to achieve, the mind-body connection, how hypnotherapy can help you and your individual needs & expectations.

Subsequent sessions – during the first part of each hypnotherapy session we’ll talk about the progress you have made, focusing on positives & solutions rather than dwelling on problems of the past.

We shalll discuss your preferred future where you have a more useful perspective on your life. And then I will then guide you into a relaxed state of Hypnosis so that we can consolidate what we have discussed.
