hypnotherapy & Hypnobirthing
Let’s start creating positive change! Creating the changes you want or getting back to ‘the old you’ is easier than you think with Solution Focused Hypnotherapy.
I love my work and it has felt like such a natural progression into Clinical Hypnotherapy and Hypnobirthing. My studies were originally in Biology & Psychology and soon after university I started work within the police service. Much of my time was spent helping the public as well as teaching psychology, neuro-linguistic programming (law of course!) and coaching staff.
Clinical Hypnotherapy can help with all manner of issues. If you think it can help you, you are most likely correct! I trained at the prestigious Bristol Clifton Practice and have since been trained by inspiring people such as Dr Brian Roet, Dorothea Read, Katharine Graves & Dr Rachel Gillibrand.
I have three children – all were hypnobirths – so I have seen first hand the benefits of a calm, relaxed, informed mindset. Better still, I know first hand how your Hypnobirthing techniques can be adapted and suited to your changing birth plan or birthing environment. A calm, confident mindset leads to a better birth, but this applies to all aspects of life. Because when we are calm & relaxed, we can be confident and so achieving our goals or just being who we want to be, becomes instantly more achievable.
I regularly update my skills with supervisory sessions, further training, qualifications and of course, the day to day process of simply keeping myself up to date and informed with changes in psychology, neurology and even birth.
I hold the Diploma in Solution Focused Hypnotherapy (DSFH) and the Hypnotherapy Practitioners Diploma. (The HPD is considered to be the gold standard of hypnotherapy qualifications).
I am a member of the Association for Solution Focused Hypnotherapy (AfSFH), the National Council for Hypnotherapy (NCH) and the Complementary & Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC). These organisations ensure that their members adhere to their professional codes of practice, ethical standards, the data protection act and keep their skills up to date. The CNHC in particular was set up with governmental support to provide the public with an assured list of therapeutic practitioners and means that GPs are allowed to refer patients to me. It also provides you with Professional Standards Authority assurance.

What can I expect?
I use a successful combination of modern techniques, which I tailor to your individual needs. These techniques include:
- Solution Focused Brief Therapy
- Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP)
- Acceptance Based Therapy (ABT)
- Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
Solution Focused Hypnotherapy is a future orientated, collaborative process so it is vital that you yourself want to achieve change. Your initial consultation is half price because I recognize that some clients may not fully understand hypnotherapy and may want to find out more before deciding what type of therapy is best for them. This session is always valuable.
During the initial consultation we discuss what you want to achieve, the mind-body connection, how hypnotherapy can help you and your individual needs & expectations.
Subsequent sessions – during the first part of each hypnotherapy session we’ll talk about the progress you have made, focusing on positives & solutions rather than dwelling on problems of the past.
We shalll discuss your preferred future where you have a more useful perspective on your life. And then I will then guide you into a relaxed state of Hypnosis so that we can consolidate what we have discussed.
